I’m proud to announce that I will be representing the University of California, Davis on the Scientific Steering Committee of the SeaMonitor Project.

SeaMonitor is a groundbreaking and comprehensive research programme, and the first of its kind in Europe. SeaMonitor is funded by the European Union’s INTERREG VA Programme (Environment Theme) and its target area comprises the seas around Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Scotland. Using new and existing data and information from tracking studies, the SeaMonitor project will deliver five models supporting the conservation of basking shark, skate, salmonids, seals and cetaceans.

In addition to updates provided on this website and via my own Twitter account (@AGMcInturf), you can follow our work on the project’s official Twitter (@SeaMonitor1) and on the newly renovated Irish Basking Shark Project website (https://www.baskingshark.ie/).
